PRESS RELEASE:
Our Summer Fair 2005
Enjoying ourselves - and putting in some effort for others!
Lilliput Lodge held its latest summer fair on Saturday, 23 July 2005, and like the previous years' events, added to the charity fund-raising by staff from both sites: Hull and Hessle.

We currently estimate that the staff, parents and outside bodies have helped us to generate up to £1,000!!!
Our staff have given up many hours this year for the Lord Mayor's Parade, the charity Humber Bridge Walk, and last Saturday - the Summer Fair, just to name three main events this year.
So staff have given up a great deal of time - particularly those with their own families and other distractions!
SO THANK YOU TO ALL WHO TOOK PART!
Parents also gave up their precious time on Saturday 23rd July.
One parent spent all day plaiting children's hair and many others contributed to the tombola.
The following contributed in specific ways also:
- Jo Langford of HSBC has given us a great deal of support and as well gave us many bank "goodies" which was very good.
- Odeon cinema helped with cinema tickets. Thank you!
- Wilkinson's gave us a gift voucher. Thank you!
- W H Smith gave us a very good calculator. Thank you!
- We were given an excellent case of champagne from Colin Edgecumbe the landlord of the Rampant Horse pub on Orchard Park. Thank you very much!
- Champion Hirer of Hull gave us a number of Roses chocolates. Thank you!
- Vogue Flowers and Cards of 600 Holderness Road gave us a magnificent bunch of flowers, in response to a request from Dianne (Hessle nursery) and Les, her partner - a great support for Lilliput Lodge.
- Infinity Printers printed free of charge the A5 flyer at no cost in terms of all the material to produce and Les, as above, printed them free of charge. Thank you!
- Napoleon's manager, Richard Harris, gave us a very generous gift of a night out/meal at his establishment. We are grateful to Richard for this and his continuing support for all that Lilliput Lodge does - a very supportive parent.
- One parent in particular I have been asked to mention is Karen Hopper Peart, of Wold Fayre, for not only giving us prizes of boxes of chocolates but also giving us cash contributions.
- We have a little girl in the nursery who has inspired us all to make this effort, and she and her mum and dad came on Saturday as well as the Humber walk. Thank you for all your efforts on your own to add significantly to the above figure and thank you for inspiring us to make a little effort by comparison. It was a a win-win in terms of enjoying ourselves and doing a little good for others.
I know that many parents helped and so if you have not been mentioned then please forgive me, and as well many staff laboured in their own time and for no monetary reward put in a great deal of time and effort.
The event on Saturday all agree was a great deal of fun in good weather, so thanks to all and a special thank you to parents, for if they had not come and enjoyed the day it would not have been such an overall success.
Thank you, again, all very much for doing so much for others.
Ann, Carole and Ray
