Hessle news - Autumn 2005

Welcome to the Lilliput Lodge newsletter, just to let you know what’s been happening around the nursery!

Hello and welcome to all new children and parents, also a big welcome to our new staff members Jessica, Amanda and Nicola. I am sure you will soon get to know each other very soon.

Ducklings

Hello from Leanne and all the Ducklings!

We're having a lovely time doing lots of painting with our hands and feet. We had lots of fun painting Cinderella’s castle with our feet also we enjoyed getting messy with the squirty cream.

We had lots of fun at our beach party coming dressed up in our favourite summer clothes and us bigger ducklings got to try the party food which Linda made. It was very yummy. We are going to have an eggtastic time with next month’s topic “On the Farm”. We will all be able to decorate a paper plate with all different farm animals, and we will enjoy listening to Leanne sing “Old McDonald Had a Farm” and listen to her make funny animal noises. We won’t be able to stop laughing.

Bye from all the Little Ducklings and Leanne.

Hello from Leanne, Amanda and all the Squirrels.

We have had lots of fun over the summer months.

It was great fun on our Beach Party Day and we thought it was lots of fun singing and dancing. We also really enjoyed making our hot air balloon display using finger painting and shape printing.

We really enjoyed getting messy with our creative activities. It was great and they turned out really well what with Parachute Pete and Scuba Steve it looks very colourful and interesting.

We all enjoy our singing and dancing time and we are all getting really good with our action rhymes.

Since the sun has been very kind and given us some brilliant days we have been able to go outside in the garden and play in the paddling pool and also on the bikes and other garden equipment.

We still have lots of fun to come with our next topic “On the Farm”: we will be making animal masks and having plenty of fun days.

You will also have noticed our Harvest Festival collection. We have collected tins of food and distributed them to a care home. Thank you for your contributions.

Hello from all the Bumble Bees and Badgers!

What a busy time we have had over the summer.

Sadly, we have said goodbye to some of our friends as they have left us to go to school, but we wish them all the best and we will keep in touch.

Some of us have been on our holidays to very exciting places and we had fun talking about them and bringing in photos and souvenirs to show our friends. We made our own “Lilliput Travel Agents” for our topic which was “Summer Holidays”. We had picnics in the garden, we had a brilliant Beach Party and Linda made us all a ice cream cornet - yummy!

One day we even made cocktails with umbrellas and sparkly things in. Non-alcoholic of course (although we’re not sure about Dianne’s!) Ha ha!

We have lots of good things coming up too. We’re having a slumber party when we will wear our pyjamas and bring our teddies.

That’s All Folks!! Love from the Bumble Bees and Badgers xx

Just a little note from Dianne

I would like to say a sincere “thank you” for the gifts and lovely cards I have received from my school leavers, it has been a real pleasure caring for these children.

Thank you so much.

Dianne

Just a little note from Corrine

Whilst I was off, my partner Jason and I got married on June 25th. It was a very enjoyable day. I am so pleased to be back. It is amazing to see how much the children have grown and progressed in their learning.

Hope to see you all soon.

Corrine
