March 2004

Welcome to Lilliput Lodge's Hessle Newsletter, just to let you know what’s been going on around the nursery.Andrea Hardy and Linda Parrott admire our lovely cake, created by Linda!

We’ve just celebrated our 7th Birthday and of course that means 7 successful years in childcare here at Hessle—it's hard to believe we’ve been here this long and here’s hoping we're here for another 7!

Here is an update from each room:

Ducklings News

Hello and welcome to 2004. The duckling room is made up of lots of happy smiley babies all of which have been busy lately doing paintings of hand and foot prints for our latest topic—some of which have been displayed on our boards and some we have taken home for our mums and dads, and of course with Mother's Day coming up we will be working hard to make those special cards.

The Ducklings room is very colourful with lots of stimulating toys and books and we always have lots of fun with our friends. So we hope to see you all soon.

Squirrels Room

Hello and welcome to our news.

We’ve been busy over the past few months getting our display boards to look nice with all our work, and playing with all the toys.

We recently made Valentines Day cards to take home, just to show we care.

We all made a Chinese hat for Chinese New Year and Linda our cook made us rice and noodles at lunchtime although we ate them with spoons not chop sticks!!!

We’ve painted houses and crayoned pictures for our homes topic
and we're also well on the way to making them special cards for our Mums!

Bumble Bees and Badgers news

A big hello from all of us in the big room. So far we have enjoyed a busy year, which started off with a visit from the Green Cross Code we all enjoyed learning more about the Lollipop person.

We celebrated Chinese New Year by making some lucky red envelopes and eating prawn crackers and rice for lunch.

Some of us recently visited the Street life Museum where we looked at some old transport and had a ride on a horse drawn carriage.

We’ve been busy in the creative department too making Valentine’s Day cards and planning ahead to make a special card for our mums.

We’ve all been working hard for our up coming OFSTED visit — and we’ve enjoyed learning from the desirable outcomes – and if you pay us a visit you can see some of our handiwork on our wall display.

We're looking ahead to Easter and just to remind you all of our Easter Bonnet parade which will take place on Tuesday 6th April — so get creating!

We have the Dentist visiting us on Wednesday 14th April (Just to check we’ve been brushing twice a day)

We are also hoping to visit Hollyoake Adventure Park in May — look out for details on posters inside the nursery nearer the time!

This brings us to the end of the Newsletter. May we please remind parents that when you book your child in for an extra day please pay for this when booking.

Any advice or information you require regarding the childcare you receive or about the nursery don’t hesitate to speak to a member of staff who will be happy to help.

Thank you.
