Welcome to Lilliput Lodge's
Newsletter, just to let you know what’s been going on around the
nursery.
We’ve just celebrated our 7th Birthday and of course that means
7 successful years in childcare here at Hessle- it's hard to believe we’ve
been here this long and here’s hoping we're here for another 7!
Here is an update from each room:
Ducklings News
Hi from Kelly and all the little Ducklings.
We have been having lots of fun over the last month, because
now the weather has got a bit warmer we can go and play outside in the
sunshine.
We have been getting messy with our topic for this month, which
is Children of the World.
We have been painting ethnic faces for our Children of
the World display board. We have also been enjoying singing with Kelly
and playing with all the fabulous toys we have.
Squirrels Room
Hello from all the Squirrels.
We’ve had lots of fun this month. We have been learning
about all about Children of the World. We have enjoyed multicultural faces
and making flags from all over the world.
We have also got messy making our very own pizzas yum yum!
Next month we are learning about shops and the environment.
Talking about all the shops we like to go in.
Bumble Bees and Badgers news
Hello from all the Bumble Bees and Badgers.
Well we have had so much fun lately! This month we have been learning
all about children of the world.
We have also talked about languages, skin colour, religion
and lots lots more, it’s amazing.
Julia did us a fantastic puppet show with our new children
of the world finger puppets.
We have been learning how to say hello in Spanish, French
and German- aren’t we clever. Also we have been making flags from
different countries.
We really enjoyed making milkshakes at snack time –
we all had a turn with the whisk.
Coming soon in June we will be going to a Fruit and Vegetable
shop, as our topic is shops and the environment. We are going to the fruit
and vegetable shop to look at the various things, available, where they
come from. If we're lucky we might get to try some, Yummy, yummy.
That should be great fun. We are also going to grow
some things of our own and learn how to look after them to help them grow
big and strong.
The Bumble Bees and Badgers went on a trip
to Hollyoak adventure Playground which was lots of fun.
We went there on the mini bus, which was very exciting,
and we sang "The wheels on the bus", for the driver Baz.
We started it off by having a picnic dinner; we had lots of food
but managed to eat it all. After dinner we went to explore the playground.
There was a really big climbing frame which was lots of fun, swings
which you could fit two people in! The playground also had a really
big slide, but we couldn’t go on that because we were too
small. We had lots of fun on the fireman’s rope, it’s
a round swing and rope which goes from one side to the other and
someone pushes you to make it go, it was so much fun and it was
really nice of Baz to do it for u.
There were animals there too. Ducks, Goats, Sheep,
Cockerels, Hens, Alpacas. Unfortunately one of them was poorly so
we hope it feels better now. We finished our fun day off by getting
a balloon each and by having a well earned nap on the bus going
home.

Hello I’m Linda.
I’ve been the cook at Lilliput Lodge Hessle for nearly
four years. This year after a lot of hard work we achieved the Heartbeat
Award. A Nutritionist came to look at our menus and asked
lots of questions about Healthy Eating.
We passed with flying colours, the only nursery out of ten
they visited that week!
I then went to the Guildhall to be presented with the award
by the Lord Mayor of Hull!
Any advice or information you require regarding the
childcare you receive or about the nursery don’t hesitate to speak
to a member of staff who will be happy to help.
Thank you.
