January 29 • Chinese New Year
February 6 • Lilliput Lodge 10th Anniversary
5-11 • Make Chatter Matter week - this week aims to promote the development of children's communication skills. Children could play games that involve talking, record their voices...
14 • Valentine's Day: make Valentine's cards. Decorate the nursery; children to wear red to represent Valentine's Day!
20 • Pancake Day - making and tasting pancakes
16 • Hessle Birthday - birthday party!!
26 • Visit from Book Start to read the children stories
March 1 • (Thursday) World Book Day - children to read their favourite books
17 • St Patrick's Day - listen to Irish music and dress in green
18 • Mothering Sunday - all children to make their own Mother's Day cards
19 • Easter activities to commence within the nursery. Card-making, bonnet making, Easter egg competition to organise!
April 5 • Easter egg competition: where children's Easter bonnets will be judged for a prize
6 • Good Friday. Easter egg hunt within the nursery premises
8 • Easter Sunday
9 • Easter Monday
23 • St George's Day. Decorate the nursery with England flags and wear red and white
May 7-13 • Deaf Awareness week. Show the children some basic sign language, play listening games and explain about deafness to the children
18 • Friendship Friday: make friendship cards, maybe send them to children in another country
25 • Hull's birthday - birthday bash and party!
June 1 • Summer Fair to be organised with fundraising events throughout June!
16 • National Badger Day - children to colour in pictures of badgers, and to dress in black and white
17 • Father's Day - children to make Father's Day cards
27 • Shades Day - wear sunglasses and make a donation to Guide Dogs for the Blind charity
July 16 • Sports Day within the nursery premises
28• Summer Fair: Saturday 28 July
August 8 • Outdoor Art Day
September 17 • Week commencing 17 September: Harvest Festival Week: children to bring in food for the Harvest Hamper for donation to a nursing home/charity
October 5 • Jeans for Genes Day - dress in denim and make a donation to Jeans for Genes to raise funds for children with life-threatening illnesses
18 • Parents' evenings Hull and Hessle: 6pm
22 • Hull Fair competition - week commencing 22 October: children to design and make fairground pictures and models
29 • Activities within the nursery for Halloween and Bonfire Night
31 • Halloween party - "dress up"
November 5 • Bonfire Night - children to make bonfire pictures "competition"
5-12 • Road Safety Week - talk about road safety, use the road safety equipment
11 • Remembrance Sunday
30 • St Andrew's Day
• Children in Need week - activities to take place
December 1 • Christmas activities to begin within the nursery
12 • Christmas pantomime/concert
17 & 18 • Children's Christmas parties
19 • Father Christmas will be coming to the nursery
20 • Children's Christmas lunch
21 • Close for Christmas break (at end of day)
25 • Christmas Day
03 January • Re-open for 2008!
