Spring 2007

Welcome to the Lilliput Lodge Newsletter, just to let you know what’s been happening around the nursery!

First I would like to say “Hello” to our new members of staff, and a BIG warm welcome to Anne Mulholland who is a Nursery Nurse within our Bumblebees & Badgers Room, Elizabeth Banks who is one of our new Room Leaders within the Ducklings Room and Amanda Greenwood who has moved over to us from our Hessle Nursery who is now a Room Leader within the Bumblebees & Badgers Room. Sadly we also need to say Goodbye to Caroline Somers and Becky Bottomley from our Badgers Room who are leaving the Nursery mid April.

Ducklings News

Hello from Lauren, Angie, Linda and all the Ducklings!

Hello to all our Ducklings. And a big welcome to Grace, Harrison, Emily and Max our new ducklings who are all settling in well, and our sleep area is soooo cosy now it's like a little bedroom!! Happy 1st birthday this month to Ellie-Mae, James, Gladstone, James Stephenson & Maddison Edmond, lots of parties to have, yum birthday cake. Lauren will be busy baking this month.

All the ducklings enjoyed doing the displays in the room, had some very messy days painting, glueing and stocking and playing with glup. You will always hear music in the duckling room, every duckling joins in and loves dancing with Kim. We have had lots of fun since the last time we wrote. We will write again soon from ...

Squirrels – Hello to all our new Squirrels who have moved up from Ducklings & Goodbye to all the ones who have moved up to Bumblebees!

The squirrels have moved and are really enjoying their new room we’ve got lots more room to play and get messy, we also have Elke as our New Room Leader. We have been enjoying the nice weather and playing out in the garden a lot. The Squirrels have really enjoyed making mothers and grandma cards and are looking forward to making lots of things for Easter. The squirrels have enjoyed making buns for Red Nose Day and we hope to raise lots of money.

Bumble Bees

Hello from all our Bumblebees and Badgers. !

Bumblebees: We have lots of fun things coming up soon, we’ve been making Mothers Day Cards and we're planning all our great activities for Easter. The Badgers have just finished looking at and learning Nursery Rhymes such as “Incy Wincy” Spider, which they all had lots of fun with and making. We have also been looking and talking about the weather. We have now started looking at growing things for Spring Time including carrots, onions, beans and cress, also we are enjoying looking at Jack and the Beanstalk and having lots of fun making our displays, including painting and sticking the Beanstalk…………

The Badgers will also be looking at the topics Animals and their Babies. The Bumblebees have had lots of fun looking at animals and learning what noises they make and also drawing pictures of animals and making animal masks. The Bumblebees have had lots of fun coming up also including lots of creative activities for Easter such as Easter Bonnets and Easter Baking.....Mmmmmmmmm....


Hello from Kids Club!

First & most importantly we would like to welcome our new friends to Kids Club! We have had a busy half term so far and enjoyed Leanne from our Hessle Nursery coming over to spend time with us and Danielle from Bumblebees. We enjoyed the Pirates Dressing Up Days and Pizza Making and Treasure Hunts. We have lots planned for the Easter Half Term including Easter Egg Hunts, Easter Bonnet Making and Egg Holders. We also have lots planned for the 6 weeks holiday and can’t wait for the summer break.

Also a BIG Thank You to all Parents who purchased Buns for Red Nose Day. We raised £51.00 in selling Buns, and we are going to be making Lots more at Easter, so I hope you're ready Mums and Dads for all our cakes. BIG Thank You once again


Easter Events Coming Up:

We are holding a competition for all children to become involved in making a Easter Egg Holder which will take place within the Nursery Rooms. All children will receive a Cadburys Crème Egg to put in their holders.

We are then holding a Easter Bonnet Competition where all children can take part at home and also by bringing their Bonnets into Nursery for help. There will be 6 winners who will then be entered into a Easter Egg Hunt for a Special Prize……

Can we please Thank our Cook Nikki who does a Great Job and was recently awarded GRADE A with Scores on the Doors! Well Done! x

Also “Congratulations” to Caroline Neale who works in the office, and has agreed to become the new General Manager from the 1st of April 2007 and is also halfway through her pregnancy with her 3rd baby. Good Luck! x
